Blogal Village

Today three great things have happened, the credit of which i give to my blog.

Firstly one of my long lost friends, Hari Sandhu, who was my class mate and my music mentor in the school right from fifth standard onwards, who now works for an FM in Delhi has contacted me after reading my blog post "
My Exploits on the Stage". I actually learnt 'sur and tal' of hindi songs from him.

Secondly,
Parry the composer has turned my poem ' तुम हो एक हवा का झोंका" into a melody. His music and his voice have brought out the frustration of the separation expressed in the poem, particularly a brief pause and change in the rhythm in the last stanza. Great job done. I wish him all the very best in his future musical ventures.

And thirdly i also learnt that Parry and me belong to the same institution.
World is so small.
I will call it a Blogal Village.

I will try and upload my song composed and sung by Parry.

EDITED TO ADD :- Incidentally let me also mention here that JP Joshi, who is now a blogger friend, also met me on my blog only. Joshi is an Indian Air Force Officer, an elite Fighter Pilot and served at Leh in 1984. After seeing my photograph of 1983 in my post "Just Struck Silver" he left a comment that whether i was in Leh in 1984. Though we had not formally met at that time and must have seen each other in some function or some party or at some other place at Leh like Defence Cinema Hall etc which we used to frequent often but hats off to his sharp memory. Thanks Joshi.

for all the three wonderful things you mentioned in the post. Parry has not posted the song to his blog yet, has he?
And yes, I have also recently discovered a wonderful fact about www that it brings strangers closer to you than your own relatives. I have found a dear dear mamoo on here. perhaps will write about it.

Someone once told me that 'every seventh person in a chain is known to the first person' - some study revealed that. The blog world may just shorten this chain further. Good luck and many more such finds in blogosphere.

WHOA !

Congratulations Dude !!

Now 'frankly speaking' I have not been very regular at the blogal village and life has been a bit off track lately. I do read your blog and I stand guilty of not commenting ! On the rare occasion that the kids go to sleep early ( like today) and there is no school the next day ( like today) and if I am not carrying an endless list of pending chores to do ( like today) I come here and fill up on your space !

I like the frank, matter of fact way that you write in...

Very right! I really enjoyed reading this.

First, of the coinage of the word "Blogal"; that seems to be the way the world is moving :)

And secondly for all those happy things to take place.

The blogal aspect again is revealed in that I just got to know that a blogger, whose space I visit often, actually studied in a school that I worked in.. :) And his younger brother would have been there when I was working there :) :)

Thanks Abhilasha, yes blogging has paid me rich dividends, not in cash but in kind -- the kind of friends i got thorugh my blog. I could not upload the song (still a long way to go in doing such tricks with computer) but if you open my post "Magic of Music" under the lebel 'My poem Assigend Music' you may be able to hear the song in Parry's voice accompanied by lovely guitar played by him.
